Rwanda Volleyball Federation is planning to organise more competitions in order to increase the level of the game and number of players, according to the federation executive secretary, Christian Hatumimana.
"You need to have more competitions for the future of Rwandan volleyball, so we are planning to have more competition in the coming season,” Hatumimana said on Friday.
Next season, FRVB plan to have an Indoor national league, Genocide Memorial Tournament, Playoffs, Carre d’As, Beach Volley circuit, Coupe du Rwanda and one local tournament but all will be agreed in General Assembly, which sits today at Amahoro National Stadium.
"The more competitions will raise the level of the game in country as increase the number of players,” he said.
Rwanda will compete in the 2018 World qualifiers (men and women) which started from subzone and zone levels as well as in 2017 African Championships qualifiers, both men and women.
Hatumimana also revealed that FRVB will give support to prepare to the local cubs, which will represent the country at the 2017 Africa Club Championships.
The General Assembly will also approve teams like Rwanda Energy Group (REG), University of Tourism Technology and Business Studies (UTB) and Gisagara VC to compete in next season’s national volleyball league, which kicks off on November 26.
