Kirehe Volleyball Club have appointed Fidele ‘Fidjo’ Nyirimana as their new head coach on a three-year contract and immediately tasked him to challenge for trophies, including the league title.
Nyirimana replaces Pierre Marshal Kwizera, who spent one season with the Nyakarambi-based outfit and guided them to a respectable 3rd place finish on his caching debut.
Nyirimana, a former coach of National University of Rwanda, has been in charge of Rayon Sports for the last two seasons.
Speaking to Times Sport on Sunday, Nyirimana said that his top priority was to win the league title with his new club. The men’s league will kick off November 26.
"I had excellent discussions with the club and I’m happy with the direction the club is taking, that is why I decided to join them. I will do all I can to make the team better,” said the former Rwanda international.
He added: "Titles may not come in the first year but I know we will deliver. I know the club will give me the support I need to ensure the team achieves its targets in the upcoming season.”
Meanwhile, his predecessor, Kwizera has cut short his coaching career to go back to playing and is understood to be on the brink of joining new league side Gisagara Volleyball Club.
