The Junior Wasps entered residential training on Monday, a week ahead of their trip to Morocco, and Mashami told Times Sport on Wednesday, that players were in high spirits and training well.
He said, "We will go there aiming to win the tournament, we are hoping to put up a good showing,” he said.
"The games will give the boys a good test ahead of the COSAFA tournament. It is good for our young players; they need to play many international games. We believe that the tournament is good learning experience for the boys,” Mashami added.
The Morocco U20 tournament is designed to give a platform to youngsters from Morocco FA partner federations to display their skills as part of an on-going youth development partnership between the federations
Mashami, who is also the head coach of league side Bugesera FC, is being assisted by Isonga FC coach Musa Gatera and APR goalkeeping coach Ibrahim Mugisha.
Mashami summoned a 26-player provisional squad on Monday before the team went into residential camp at Hotel Dian Fossey in Shyorongi.
The Junior Wasps held a training session on Tuesday afternoon and then two sessions on Wednesday before returning to their respective clubs on Thursday ahead of weekend’s league matches.
The final 20-man team will link up on Monday and depart to Morocco later on the same day.
The team was also invited to compete in the 2016 COCASA Under-20 Championships which will be staged in Rustenburg, South Africa from December 7-16.
