He might be popular for his secular music but Alpha Rwirangira comes from a staunch Christian family, with deep roots in the church.

The singer and guitarist continues to live true to his faith and has just released a gospel song and its video titled, ‘Yamungu’ that talks about God’s enduring love for humanity despite our daily struggles.

The track, a mixture of Kinyarwanda and Swahili, was recorded by Rwanda’s popular producer Bob Pro and the video by Dangfilms.

According to the ‘Birakaze’ star, the song aims at uplifting spirits that are down and give people hope for a better tomorrow.

"We all have different stories, and every day we go through difficult times and disappointments. People’s love for us might fluctuate everyday but God’s love is constant. I am a strong believer in God and I believe that if one has faith, their tomorrow is bound to be better than today,” the US-based artiste told The New Times.

Alpha added: "Artistes are a mirror of society. If I can uplift someone’s spirits, then I would have used the talent that God gave me usefully, and conveyed His message.”

"Swahili is a global language and has gained attention even in the Western world. I believe that my message will reach the whole world,” he said.

The R&B, soul, reggae and dance singer, is ecstatic about his latest song and says he hopes to release more gospel and education oriented songs as often as possible, to keep inspiring people.

The 30-year-old singer and songwriter, who recently graduated in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing and a minor in music at Campbellsville University (CU) in Kentucky, United States, also spoke of his plans of returning to Rwanda next year.

"My fans should expect me anytime next year if all goes according to plan. I cannot wait to get back home!” he said.
