Dear Editor,
I am a Rwandan but with a Ugandan parent as well. I must say that I am very proud to be a part of both sister countries.
Rwanda is facing a rough times as France and Germany accuse our Rose Kabuye falsely, for allegedly assassinating the late president Juvenal Habyarimana.
I am, however, very touched by the fact that Uganda has not given up supporting Rwanda.
Not only did Ugandan women join their Rwandan counterparts in the protest against Rose Kabuye’s arrest but Uganda has also threatened to stop importing anything from France as long as our Rose Kabuye is in Germany or France prison cells.
This reminds me of what I was taught as a child, that a friend in need is a friend indeed.
In fact, this kind of coordination between states is a strong weapon to end European intimidation.
All the other African countries should stand together against bullies like France and Germany.
Together we stand and divided we fall.
