Etincelles FC head coach Emmanuel Ruremesha has issued a message of patience to fans, saying that he wants to turn the club into a consistently winning side, but warned that may take time to come.

Etincelles maintained a dream start to the 2016/17 National Football League campaign following a 1-0 win over hosts Mukura Victory Sports on Saturday at Huye Stadium. 

They started the season with a 3-2 victory against Ruremesha’s former club, Gicumbi FC. 

Ismail Gikamba’s lone goal against Mukura helped the Rubavu-based side to take control of the league standings with six points, level on points with second-placed Sunrise FC, and two ahead of Rayon Sports and defending champions APR FC, who are third and fourth, respectively. 

Speaking to Times Sports on Monday, Ruremesha said he was happy that his side had not only won but dominated their first two games and vowed to keep that momentum going. 

"It is always nice to win two or more consecutive games with good performances, I think we’re a good side and are playing good football, we have done the right things in the opening two games,” Ruremesha said. 

He added, "We’re trying to do something this season, and it’s not just about just winning games. It’s about developing the pedigree, the knowledge of how to keep a football, and I think we’ve shown that we can play good football.” 

"We want to turn this club into a winning side consistently, we want to play entertaining football, but it is about starting somewhere and progressing with that, and I think we are well on the right track,” added the former Mukura, Gicumbi tactician. 

However, the ex-Amavubi assistant coach admitted that, "It is just the start of the season; we can’t afford to get carried away after only two wins. There is going to be times when we have our back on the wall, and it’s how we deal with that situation that will determine our season.” 

Next up for Etincelles will be ninth-placed Musanze FC on match-day 3 of the season, on Saturday at Umuganda Stadium. Pepiniere and Amagaju FC are at the bottom of the table standings each with no point.
