APR interim coach Yves Rwasamanzi has warned his players to expect a tough test when they take on Gicumbi in the Azam Rwanda Premier league this afternoon at Kigali Regional stadium.

The champions kicked off their title defense last weekend with a 1-0 win over Amagaju FC courtesy of a first half strike from new signing Hakizimana Muhadjiri and coach Rwasamanzi has challenged his boys to carry on the winning mentality which he believes will be a tough test for them.

"Gicumbi is a very good team and can beat any team despite losing their first game. I think they will be very offensive seeking to bounce back from defeat and we have to be ready for that,” Rwansamanzi said.

The APR tactician added that "All players are ready and fit, we want to keep our winning streak especially in this first leg so that in the return leg, we shall be in a position to defend our title.”

Elsewhere SC Kiyovu which got off to a poor start losing to Bugesera 3-0 will host Amagaju at Mumena stadium while Musanze which was defeated by newly promoted Kirehe 1-0 will take on Pepiniere FC at Nyakinama stadium.

Meanwhile on Friday, AS Kigali thrashed Marine 3-0 at Kigali Regional Stadium to register their first three points of the season after being stunned by Sunrise FC in the opening game.
