MPs to elect EALA representative
Members of the Lower House, today, will elect a replacement for Christophe Bazivamo at the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), following his appointment as Deputy Secretary General at the East African Community secretariat.

Members of the Lower House, today, will elect a replacement for Christophe Bazivamo at the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), following his appointment as Deputy Secretary General at the East African Community secretariat.
Bazivamo, who was until June one of Rwanda’s eight representatives to EALA, is now the EAC Deputy Secretary General in charge of Finance and Administration.
According to a statement from Parliament, the election will be held at parliament at 9am.
The assembly still has one year to its current term.
The current Rwandan members of the regional assembly were elected on May 18, 2012 for a five-year term that ends in June next year.
