LETTERS: It’s more than politics at play in US elections

Editor,

RE: "Can you imagine a pious Trump? Well, he has a pastor to pray for him” (The New Times, October 11).

Pundits are not certain about most things because what is happening in the United States is not "politics” as they knew it, but politics versus business as systems of government—a new paradigm in the history of government hence why it’s an uphill run for Donald Trump.

This is an uphill because Trump is introducing a new polity that many people hardly understand; people are naturally resistant to change; he’s trying to dismantle a firmly entrenched system; and his opponent is fighting not for the job but her life, else she goes to jail.

Whatever the outcome of the race, politics will never be the same (at least in America) and Trump will go down in history with volumes written about the "Trumpism”.

Good luck Mr. Trump. You have all my prayers!
