UK-based gospel music missionary group, Vinesong, is set to visit Rwanda on October 19, as part of their 11-month annual global missionary tour around the world.

Vinesong, one of the greatest gospel music groups in the world, was founded by Pastor John Watson from Zimbabwe, with team members from South Africa and the UK.

The group which has performed in over 75 countries around the world has 18 albums and several videos and sings in 21 different languages.

It is the first time the group is visiting the country, and is expected to arrive next Wednesday, ahead of their 10-day performances in Kigali and Huye districts.

Pastor Watson told The New Times that the group is so excited to minister to people in Rwanda during their 2016 African tour and hopes with God’s grace, many lives will be touched and changed.

"Our prayer is that the lord will bless this time together. We always minister by his grace and in the hope that many lives will be saved, changed, healed and released into newness of God,” said Pastor Watson.

Their first performances will be held at Restoration Church in Huye on October 21 and at the University of Rwanda Huye campus main auditorium on October 22. 

In Kigali, Vinesong will perform at Christian Life Assembly in Nyarutarama on October 25, Solace Ministries on October 28 and at New Life Bible Church in Kicukiro on October 30.

Since 1993, Vinesong has led worship each year at the National Day of Prayer on the steps of the Capital building in Washington DC and is acclaimed as the first Christian ministry to have ministered with music at the United Nations in New York and the United Nations in Nairobi-Kenya.

The group’s Rwandan tour is organised by gospel musician and coordinator and music director at Africa Let’s Worship (Aflewo) Rwanda, Luc Buntu.
