National women Volleyball League champions, Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA) have turned their focus to the 2017 Africa Volleyball Club Championships slated to take place between March and April.

For the first time in the history of the women team in Rwanda, RRA reached the semi final and went on to finish in fourth place, but newly appointed head coach Jean De Dieu Masumbuko will be seeking to reach the final.

Masumbuko said the team will start preparations in December ahead of the National volleyball league, which will start in January and the African Club Championships, whose dates and the host country will be confirmed next year in January.

"We need to start preparations early because we want to do much better in the tournament,” Masumbuko said.

RRA dominated the local scene after winning the national league title, Carre d’As, Alphonse and Rutsindura memorial tournament.

Meanwhile the National Women volleyball U23 team has continued with intensive preparations at Amahoro Stadium. On Monday the team lost to All Stars 3-2 (25-220, 19-20, 25-19, 19-25 and 15-11).
