Sergeant Robert Kabera.

Sergeant Robert Kabera is former member of the Army Jazz Band, but he is now a solo singer, famous for his song ‘Weekend’, a hit on local radio stations, and has earned him recognition on Rwanda’s music scene.

Kabera, 29, has been in the industry for quite sometime and by the look of things, Kabera is here to stay, at least for sometimes.

I’m a passionate advocate for ‘weekend’. And to be frank on this little fact, I would be crazy if I missed it. Like many of you out there, my weekends normally start on Fridays, at 5pm.

By then, I would have finished all my week’s tasks, then hook up with my girlfriend for gym and sauna at Alpha Palace, in Remera.

At exactly 7 pm, we head home and change to our weekend outfits. I’ll wear my favourite pair of blue jeans, T-shirt and a cup.

And my gal will go for an evening dress, with a neck-scarf and raps it around her neck. And we both get ready for weekend’s night out. I’m a sporty person. Every Saturday evening, I go at La Palance Nyandungu for swimming.

At 5pm I am back home…rest for only a short while with my gal, while we try to figure out for another night-out. Usually, Sundays, are my days home.

Due to the fatigue of the previous nights out, on Sundays I normally wake-up at around 11:30am. Have a quick shower, and late breakfast.

By 1pm, I’ll be already having my lunch, to secure time to plan for my work ahead. I must also confess that I’m a movie fanatic.

I make a selection of movies, from love stories, fictions, horror and watch them all throughout the day and evening. I also enjoy cooking.

Normally, Sunday evenings I’m also in the charge of the kitchen. My favourite meals are: Maize bread, matooke, and Irish potatoes, accompanied by meat and beans.

At 8 pm, I’ll be having my supper. Go to bed at exactly 10pm. And with all these, I’ll be able to able to consider this my perfect weekend!
