APR FC has reportedly excluded its captain Fitina Ombolenga from the traveling squad to Zanzibar for the upcoming Mapinduzi Cup due to misconduct.
The player allegedly missed several training sessions without providing any communication, something that made the club’s administration take action.

Sources indicate that Ombolenga, who has only six months left on his contract, failed to attend two training sessions.
Team Manager Eric Ntazinda reportedly requested a written explanation from him for his absence, a requirement that Ombolenga did not fulfill.
Times Sport understands that the club’s head coach Thierry Froger, unimpressed by the right back's behaviour, has appointed Claude Niyomugabo as the new captain.
Meanwhile, for different reasons, APR’s traveling squad will also not include striker Innocent Nshuti, who is currently in the United States for trials. Ugandan midfielder Taddeo Lwanga will also not be available, in addition Yannick Bizimana and Danny Ndikumana.
On a positive note, new signings Elie Kategeya and Thaiba Mbonyumwami have successfully made it into the squad.
Thierry Froger's team is scheduled to depart for Zanzibar on Friday, December 29. Their first game at the tournament will take place on January 1, 2024.
