PEACE CUP winners Rayon Sports have dropped the biggest hint yet that they expect to sign another striker this summer following the departure of two key players, Malian Ismail Diarra and Uganda’s Devis Kasirye.

Rayon Sports striker Ismaila Diarra declined to renew his contract with the reigning Peace Cup champions according to the club chairman Dennis Gacinya. Diarra has been linked to a move to Kenya side AFC Leopard or DR Congo’s Vita Club.

Diarra was cited with Vita officials two months ago fuelling speculation that he would be joining the DR Congo side.

Rayon signed another Malian Moussa Camara from Tunisia and Frank Lomami from Musanze FC but in an interview over the weekend, Rayon Sports head coach Djuam Masudi said the two are not enough and he needs to sign another prolific striker.

"We still need another good striker to bring in more energy by assisting the others, I can’t mention his name but you will see him when he jets in,” Masudi added.

Both Diarra and Kasirye assisted the club to end a trophy drought by winning this year’s Peace Cup; they scored 26 goals out of the 50 goals scored by the club last season.

The club finished second last season behind APR with 61 points.
