Gospel group True Promises Ministries thrilled hundreds of their fans to enchanting gospel performances at New Life Church Kicukiro in a praise and worship concert dubbed "Wadushyizeahakwiriye” loosely translated as ‘You placed us in a worthy place’.
It featured performances by Gisubizo and Healing Worship team, two of Kigali’s most popular gospel choirs.
Though it rained throughout Sunday afternoon, by 3pm, the church was almost packed as the performances started with Gisubizo and Healing Worship Team opening up the evening’s worship performances.
The two choirs did a good job, stirring the congregation of worshippers before Kabeza Gates of Hope’s Pastor Jackie Mugabo, the night’s host, ushered in the main performers of the evening, True Promises.
Elegantly dressed in the traditional African Kitenge costumes, the group stormed the stage at about 4: 30pm performing Ntacyonzatinya, their fast-paced track which sent the congregation into dance frenzy.
After the opening performance, the gospel choir spared a moment to screen a 10-minute video to pay tribute to their member and secretary, Jacques Kiruhura who passed on last month in a road accident.
Exuding great vocals, they performed most of their songs like Wadushyize ahakwiriye, Nzamurambaho, Nzimikaingomayamahoro, Alpha and Omega, Mana Uri Mbaraga, ManaUrera among others that inspired believers to arise and sing along right from start to end.
Other remarkable performances of the evening came from the True Promises Drama team which wowed the congregation with vigorous dance performances of Sinachi’s I know who I am, Alpha and Omega, among others.
The performances ended on a high note with True Promises unveiling Inzirazawen’ibihumbi, and YesuYabirangije, two songs that will feature on their forthcoming album. The audience seemed to immediately fall in love with the songs. The evening ended in style as the gospel group received donations worth Rwf2.5m from invited guests who sought to support the choir.
