Patriots and Espoir basketball clubs have maintained their 100% winning start at the ongoing FIBA-Africa Zone V Club Championships in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania after winning their second games on Sunday evening.

The two sides go into today’s games looking to make it three wins out of three and seal their places in the semi-finals. Espor take in Kenya’s Ulinzi in Group B at 12pm local time while Patriots will be up against National Engineering of South Sudan in Group A, at 8pm.

On Sunday, debutants Patriot overcame home side Savio 68-56 to register two wins from the two games, having also won their opener against Uganda Christian University Canons 73-66 on Saturday.

"Our target is to win and reach first the semi-final, but we need to beat National Engineering, who will not be easy and we can’t taken them lightly,” said Patriots coach Henry Mwinuka.

A win today against National Engineering would see the reigning Rwandan league champions progress to the semi-finals with a game to spare.

Meanwhile Espoir also continued their perfect start with convincingly winning 96-46 win over Citizen from South Sudan.

The 2012 Zone V champions dominated the game from start to finish and afterwards their coach Aime Kharim Nkusi said, "The game was a bit easy for us and I am happy for my players that they showed great team work. Our focus is to win against Ulinzi and qualify for the semi-finals.”
