Davite Giancarlo who has already claimed the national championship will lead Rwanda’s field.

The Italian-born driver rounded off his rivals with a stellar display in last month’s Rallye de L’est; the 6th competition on the championship. The performance consequently handed him his first competition win as well as the championship.

Des Mille Collines rally is the last competition on the national championship. It is also the second biggest race in Rwanda after the lucrative Mountain Gorilla rally.

The two events have a coefficient of four which means that the top driver at the end of the day collects a massive 80 points. The race, scheduled for December 7-9 will be jointly held in the eastern and northern province.

Last year, former champion Rudy Cantanhede won the race.
