Rayon Sports will take on national football league rivals Mukura Victory Sport in what will be the club’s second last pre-season friendly match on Saturday at Huye Stadium.

Djuma Masudi’s side are camping in Huye District as they prepare for the start of the 2016/17 season on October 14. By press time they were scheduled to play against Amagaju FC before facing Godfroid Okoko’s Mukura this afternoon.

The Peace Cup champions will return to Kigali on Monday and will face AS Kigali next Saturday.

"We have a three-day training camp in Huye; we need to prepare the team so that they can be ready for the league, which we expect to be tougher than last season, so we have to be well prepared mentally and physically,” said Rayon Sports secretary general and spokesperson, Olivier Gakwaya.

He added that, "We are trying to make sure that we have the strongest team available because we want to win the league and do better in CAF Confederation Cup. So, for us to achieve that, we must leave no stone unturned as far as preparations are concerned. We try to give the coach the support he needs.”

Meanwhile, reigning league champions APR FC will play two more pre-season matches, against Etincelles FC today at Umuganda Stadium in Rubavu, before facing Congolese side FC Ibanda Sport on Sunday at the same venue.
