RE: "Ibuka condemns Dutch MPs for 'shielding Genocide suspects” (The New Times, September 29).

These parliamentarians are, for obscure interests, setting themselves against the course of history.

As Martin Luther King, Jr. rightly noted, the arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards justice. Genocide and those who have perpetrated it should be the last things those who purport to represent the good and moral people of The Netherlands should want to associate their country with.

What superior benefit is to be gained by the Dutch – usually more moral than most – to risk reputational damage by associating with génocidaires and those who would shield them?
