RE: "RwandAir acquires first Airbus A330-200 in East Africa”(The New Times, September 28).
Had anyone gotten his chest filled with air and his heart pounding as I did? I did not believe I would see this Rwanda in my lifetime.
I know, RwandAir is not the biggest airline in Africa, but measured against ourselves; that is big thinking, and it is not the airline only, which makes the whole thing totally look different.

Editor,
The achievements made by RwandAir mirror fairly well the overall strides Rwanda has made since the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi that some hopeless people around the world are not ashamed to deny. For some of us who have known this airline since the early 2000s, this exponential progress looks like a day-dream. For those who are still in doubt, it is a living proof of a country led by true and visionary leadership. For the young generation and the relatively less young like myself, this shows that everything is possible once people unite their efforts and work hand in hand for the common good under a responsible leadership.I have never been so proud of a country. I wish I could meet again my students in Butare in the early 2000 and review growth theory macroeconomics with regards to what is likely going to be "another growth miracle country”.
