White Clouds Cricket Club were yesterday crowned champions of this year’s Computer Point T20 tournament for a record fourth successive year after defeating archrivals Queens of Victory by 9 wickets in the final played at Kicukiro cricket ground.

White Clouds Cricket Club were yesterday crowned champions of this year’s Computer Point T20 tournament for a record fourth successive year after defeating archrivals Queens of Victory by 9 wickets in the final played at Kicukiro cricket ground.
Queens of Victory CC, bidding to win their Computer Point T20 title since their formation three years ago, won the toss and opted to bat first; making 84 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets.
Queens of Victory’s opening batter and captain Fridaus Kagoyire scored 26 runs from 26 balls before she was bowled out in the 16th over—she was ably supported by Damalie Busingye, who scored 10 runs in 13 balls.
In reply, the defending champions made 98 runs from 17.5 overs. Egidia Uwimana was in fine form for White Clouds as she made 30 runs off 29 balls and also took one catch. She was supported by Vestine Byukusenge, who also scored 30 runs off 26 balls.
This win means that White Clouds, who are by far the most dominant women cricket club in Rwanda, have defeated their biggest rivals Qeens of Victory in three consecutive finals – twice in Computer Point and once in VR. Naidu Family tournament.
"Today’s win goes a long way in showing why we’re the best team in the country, and I must congratulate my teammates for a great performance today, the whole team performed according to plan,” White Clouds captain Veronic Iriho said after her team’s victory.
Immaculate Duhawenimana was White Clouds’ star bowler after picking 4 wickets from 4 overs for 15 runs, while Mercy Uwamahoro took 3 wickets as her team, nicked "Doves”, retained the title.
On their way to the final, White Clouds defeated all their opponents, including Fawe Girls’ School, Charity CC, She-Guards and Kigali Angels and Queens of Victory (twice).
