RE: "Rwasamanzi lacks charisma but can deliver as APR head coach” (The New Times, September 18).

An excellent piece from The New Times as usual. No matter what happens in his career from now onwards, Yves Rwasamanzi is deeply passionate about football. He started with La Jeunesse in the third division and had some wonderful moments with them.

As a former referee and growing professionally at the same time as him, I remember how in 2005 he honourably led the Amavubi U-20 CECAFA championships in Zanzibar. Rwasamanzi is a humble man, but he’s also known for fostering togetherness, discipline and team spirit. He has the experience required and I hope that APR FC will consider giving him a chance in the head coach role (on a permanent basis).

Rwasamanzi worked extremely hard to be where he is today. And it does not matter whether one played at the high level or not. What matters is the output in view of the tasks at hand.
