It was an evening of dancing and merrymaking as one of Rwanda’s leading boy groups, Dream Boys, unveiled its 6th album before the residents of Gicumbi District in Northern Province this past Saturday.

The duo of Platini Nemeye and Claude "TMC” Mujyanama launched their latest album dubbed "Wenda Azaza” at Gicumbi stadium, with the support of several local artistes. 

Residents of Gicumbi danced until the skies were filled with dust, as Dream Boys and other artistes, including Bruce Melodie, Jay Polly, Tom Close, Christopher and Yvan Buravan performed their songs.

The show kicked off as early as 2p.m with MCs Phil Peter and Kate Gustave firing up the expectant crowd before Bruce Melodie opened the gig, performing several of his songs that have made him a household name.

The Turaberanye singer performed Ndakwanga, Ntundize, Ndumiwe, among others, before making way for rapper Jay Polly.

The Tuff Gangs rapper, who has worked on a number of collaborations with Dream Boys, excited the residents of Gicumbi, proving that he’s still a force to reckon with despite his own concert flopping last month.

The Ubuzima Bwanjye rapper was followed by new sensation Yvan Buravan, who is fast rising within the local music ranks.

The Malaika singer proved to revellers that he is the new force in Rwandan music, who’s ready to give the old guards a run for their money.

Buravan performed such songs as Malaika, Bindimo and Urwo Ngukunda before he relinquished the stage for Christopher.

The former Kina Music member showed that, despite his recent departure from the label, there is no bad blood between him and his former partners, pulling a performance that got the people of Gicumbi on their feet.

The Abasitari singer performed Habona, Dutegereje Iki and Babyumva, among others, before Tom Close came on stage.

The Malaika Murinzi singer, who has experience performing before big crowds, did a good job preparing the crowd for Dream Boys, who shortly after arrived on stage.  

With DJ Bissoso already hyping the crowd, the duo arrived on stage to perform songs on their latest album, including the cover Wenda Azaza, 70, Uzamubwire, Inkundo z’i Kigali and Birarangiye in which they feature Jay Polly.

They also performed songs from their previous albums and thanked their fans, sponsors, fellow artistes and the media for supporting them through their musical journey.

"We are grateful for the support we have received throughout this journey. We don’t take it for granted. This is why we decided to bring our launch here, just as we plan to go to other parts of the country,” said Platini.

Clement Ishimwe, the CEO of Kina Music, took to social media to applaud the success of the concert and congratulate Dream Boys, who are among the most successful music groups in the country.
