Rwanda Cycling Cup race continues today with the ‘Central Challenge’ when riders compete from Kayonza in the Eastern Province to Muhanga in the South, according to the organizers, Rwanda Cycling Federation.

The senior riders and the U23s will start from Kayonza passing through Rwamagana; Kigali before reaching Muhanga, covering a total of 122km.

The juniors will start from Rwamagana town and finish in Muhanga, a distance of 102km while the women riders will start from Giticyinyoni and end in Muhanga, a distance of 43km.

The race will attract riders from all the local clubs, including; Benediction Club, Les Amis Sportifs, Cine Elmay, Fly Cycling Club, Huye Cycling Club for All and Kiramuruzi Cycling Club.

The ‘Central Challenge’ race is the 8th on the 10-race Rwanda Cycling Cup, which is organized by the Rwanda Cycling Federation in collaboration with Skol and Cogebanque.

The races are aimed at preparing Team Rwanda riders for international competitions and promoting cycling in the country. The riders earn points from each race and after all races; there will be an overall national champion.

Last year’s Tour du Rwanda winner, Jean Bosco Nsengimana, who currently rides for Germany-based Bike Aid, is the reigning national champion.
