She-Amavubi will be using the game as part of their preparations ahead of the inaugural CECAFA Women Challenge Cup scheduled for September 11-20 in Jinja, Uganda.
"We shall play a friendly with the men’s U17 team this Thursday to try and gauge the players before selecting the final squad that will travel to Uganda for the CECAFA tournament,” said the She-Amavubi coach, Grace Nyinawumuntu.
Rwanda is drawn in Group B along with Tanzania and Ethiopia. They will battle Tanzania on Day two of the competition before taking on Ethiopia in the last preliminary group game looking to register maximum points to finish on top of the group in order to advance to the semi-finals.
She-Amavubi last played an international game in 2014 during the African Women’s Championships qualifiers against Nigeria’s Super Falcons, losing 8-1 away in Kaduna.
Nyinawumuntu will name the final team on Friday. The regional tournament will kick off on September 11. Semi-final fixtures are set for September 18 while the final and third-place play-off are scheduled on September 20.
