World Vision is seeking to hire a qualified, dedicated and experienced national to fill the following position:


POSITION: Information Technology Systems 
                     Support Officer

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The primary purpose of this position is to support and maintain the Electronic information systems at the Projects, through the provision of a client-oriented service, facilitating innovative breakthrough information technology solutions and maintenance of reliable connectivity to the National Office and the Partnership.

MAJOR RESPONSABILITIES

1. Provide Information Technology support to Regional Projects / Area Development Program staff providing support as needed. This will include making field offices visits.
2. Ensure that reliable and cost effective means of connectivity are provided and maintained at all WVR Projects.
3.  Provide in-service training to the Project staff on desktop applications in use.
4. Ensure remote users are able to make the fullest use of desktop applications.
5. Provide technical advice to the Information Technology Manager in decisions related to the strategic support of remote users.
6. Ensure hardware and software at the Projects are maintained in optimum operational condition, to allow maximum utilization.
7. Facilitate all desktop housekeeping activities at the Projects, including the distribution of anti-virus software and the back-up of individual user files.
8. Diagnose and arrange for repair of dysfunctional hardware.
9. Ensure all the Project hardware information is captured and updated in the Information and Technology asset database


QUALIFICATIONS AND CONDITIONS
REQUIRED

• Committed to growing as a Christian
• A+ certification
• A proficient of Lotus Notes and MS Office
• Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or      relevant field
• Knowledge on the consulting process directed at client retention and product delivery.
• Hands on experience in database management,  minimum 2 years, providing technical support on desktop applications. A thorough understanding of remote connectivity via Internet.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
