POSITION: HEALING, PEACE BUILDING
& RECONCILIATION (HPR)
PROJECT COORDINATOR
JOB LOCATION: GICUMBI
REPORTS TO: NORTH REGION
COORDINATOR.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To coordinate the implementation of an AUSAID funded HPR grant project in the respective operational areas and ensure healing, peace building and reconciliation desired impact is realised. Manage project resources according to WV Rwanda and AUSAID accountability procedures and guidelines.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Develop annual implementation plans for the project and make sure that the plans are effectively implemented.
2. Supervise the implementation of project activities and ensure they are in line with annual project plans.
3. Prepare project reports and submit them timely to relevant stakeholders according to agreed formats and standards.
4. Prepare project budgets and ensure budget utilisation is in line with AUSAID grant financial policies and cooperative agreements.
5.Monitor and review annual budget and financial reports and submit them to the WVAUS program officer.
6.Contribute to the process of reviewing healing, peace building and reconciliation programming strategy.
7.Develop the baseline survey TOR and monitor the baseline exercise of the project to ensure quality and reliability of the information collected.
8. Facilitate the establishment of a monitoring and evaluation system for the project to collect and manage information on the project progress and impact.
9. Oversee financial controls and ensure procedures meet donor and WVR accountability and stewardship standards.
10. Ensure the strategy of integrating healing, peace
building and reconciliation in community
development work is implemented.
11. Facilitate healing, peace building and reconciliation workshops
12. Build productive relationships and partnerships
with the relevant government institutions and
NGOs working in the area of peace building,
healing and reconciliation.
13. Represent World Vision at meetings organised by
ministry partners, churches and government
14. Provide supervision and manage performance of
subordinate staff
QUALIFICATIONS AND CONDITIONS
REQUIRED
The following knowledge, skills and abilities are required.
• A University Degree in social sciences, psychology or education.
• At least 3 years experience working in healing, peace building and reconciliation initiatives/projects.
• Excellent understanding of Peace building and reconciliation issues in Rwanda.
• Good analytical skills
• Ability to communicate well in English. Knowledge of French is an added advantage
• Computer literacy in Micro soft word, excel and PowerPoint.
• Committed to growing as a Christian
• Experience in providing psychosocial and spiritual support to communities/people
• Willingness to learn and facilitate team building
• Rwandan by nationality.
