Firing or retaining anyone coach is not the issue because the problems with our football are deeper and broader than anyone individual however good or incompetent they might be.

We need to go back to the drawing board and start as if we never had a national football team—start from the ground and build upward. That would require that we take a sabbatical from international football competition until we have put in place and reinforced a broad youth football development programme from whom future national football and elite club players will be drawn. Till then stop dreaming and fantasizing about miraculous results.
We are wasting money and setting ourselves up for perpetual guaranteed disappointments. Remember the definition of insanity: doing the same thing over and over while expecting a different outcome.
