LETTERS: Domestic workers need training just like anyone else
Contrary to some readers’ claims that the authors degraded house-helpers, this is an article that reflects the reality of what we go through with maids every day. It doesn’t in any way insult maids - rather it’s very informative and explains why people should endeavour to train their maids.

Like any other work, maids need to have the skills. If you must have that maid from the village, don’t expect miracles from her. She needs training to be able to do the work well. There are several agencies that train house-helps and these could come in handy. A one-day induction for a maid who has never used certain gadgets in your home is not enough.
