RE: "CAR President hails Rwanda peacekeepers” (The New Times, August 22).

We can always trust the men and women serving under our flag to always behave and act in ways that bring our country the greatest credit. Long may there be such impressive ambassadors of Brand Rwanda at its best.

Sometimes I wish we all had the same level of commitment to excellence as members of our defence forces. But I guess that requires the kind of institutional discipline and readiness to serve that is all but impossible to transfer to the civilian arena.

Still, congratulations to the Rwanda Defence Forces for your unflagging excellence in performance and behaviour, even in the harshest of environments.

We are truly proud of your contribution to helping build peace and a secure environment for people around the world and your deserved reputation of discipline and selfless service while doing so.
