RE: "Police officers urged to promote gender equality” (The New Times, August 23).

It is creditable that Rwanda has the highest number of women members of parliament in the world. This does send a clear message of the Government’s firm stand in integrating women into the mainstream of society.

Women empowerment and gender equality is the need of the hour. This shows that women today are taking centre stage and on their way to getting their fair share of business opportunities as well as tourism flows.I wish Rwandan women continued success in the years ahead.
