Nigerian popular singer Wizkid, born Ibrahim Ayodeji Balogun, arrived in the country today ahead of the annual Mutzig Beer Fest scheduled for Saturday at Romans Park Regular (ex Rugende Training Centre); about 15 minutes drive from Kigali City.

Upon his arrival, Wizkid met the media at Marriot Hotel in Kigali and promised concertgoers nothing but the best evening of the African music.

"I’m so excited to be in Kigali and beyond that to be in Africa, my home,” he said.

"I’m here with my brothers (his band) and producers and, as always the Star Boy crazy experience is what people should look out for. People should also expect nothing but the best from Africa,” he added.

The 26-year-old noted that he has been receiving a lot of Instagram notifications from his local fans. He also confessed his admiration for the Rwandan beauty and its beautiful people.

The singer also had a successful concert in Mwanza, Tanzania last weekend.

Wizkid is one of the most popular contemporary musicians from Nigeria, with one of the best selling albums in his time. He is mostly famous for his song, Show You The Money, though he has a list of other songs to his name, including Baba Nla (Final), Azonto (Freestyle), One Dance, On Top Your Matter, Sexy Mama and Ojuelegba, among others.

The Fest will also feature South African House duo Liquideep, Chilean jazz maestro Tito Al Ulibe and Friends from the United States and local music band Nubian Gypsies.
