In a recent interview with DailyMail.com in New York City, Rwandan music sensation Bruce Melodie and Jamaican-American reggae rapper Shaggy opened up about their latest music collaboration, their performances at IHeartRadio&039;s Jingle Ball in Dallas and Miami, and Shaggy's illustrious three-decade career, now 23 years after the release of his classic hit 'It Wasn't Me.'

The musical journey between Bruce and Shaggy began in 2008 when Bruce attended Shaggy's concert in Kigali. Fast forward 15 years, and the duo found themselves on stage performing their new song 'When She's Around' at IHeartRadio's Jingle Ball events in Dallas and Miami.

Shaggy, now 55, reflected on his 30-year career, emphasizing the gratitude he feels for still being able to pursue his passion. "To still be doing this over 30 years, it is a force to be reckoned with, and to still be relevant in the game, especially in my genre, is a blessing," said Shaggy during the interview.

Shaggy said he felt a connection with the song, recognizing its original African beat and how he had to add on his signature dancehall flavor. "It was kind of a match made in heaven at that point," he added.

Bruce, in awe of the collaboration, said: "I learned from Shaggy that when he&039;s doing something, he does it until he's finished." Bruce, once dreaming of performing in front of large audiences, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share the stage with Shaggy.

Shaggy, in turn, praised Bruce's humility despite being a big star in East Africa. "His humility is so great and admirable. I think you'll go very, very far with that attitude. He's always willing to learn a lot of things," acknowledged Shaggy.
