Nigerian music star Wizkid has said that he cannot wait to perform in Rwanda this coming weekend, following his massive concert in Mwanza, Tanzania.
Nigerian music star Wizkid has said that he cannot wait to perform in Rwanda this coming weekend, following his massive concert in Mwanza, Tanzania.
The singer, real names Ibrahim Ayodeji Balogun, is expected to perform in Rwanda on August 27, at the Mutzig Beer Fest which will take place at Rugende Training Centre.
Following the Saturday performance in the town of Mwanza, Wizkid took to social media to share a photo of a huge crowd, adding that he has been informed that the crowd in Rwanda will be even bigger.
"What a night to be alive! Thank you Mwanza, Tanzania! That was emotional. Until next time,” the 26-year-old tweeted, adding
"Rwanda, you’re up next! I heard we [are] doing bigger numbers, 27th August. Can’t wait,” the Starboy CEO said.
Wizkid is currently among the most sought after artistes on the continent and many Rwandans have been posting on their social media platforms in anticipation for his maiden performance in Rwanda.
The show you the money singer has a number of hits to his name including Baba Nla (Final), Mama city featuring TinieTempah, One Dance featuring Drake, Bad featuring Tiwa Savage, My Bed, Ojuelegba and many others which have made him a global force.
The award winning singer will perform at the beer fest along with South Africa’s house band Liquideep, Tito and Friends, as well as the Nubian Gypsies.
During the Mwanza concert, dubbed Tigo Fiesta Mwanza 2016, Wizkid performed alongside the likes of Ali Kiba and other Tanzanian artistes. According to Patricia Garuka, the Bralirwa Senior Brand Manager, Wizkid was considered because he largely relates to young people.
