THE Second round of the national women football league gets underway today with three matches scheduled on match-day 10 of the 2015/2016 season.

While record eight-time reigning champions and table leaders AS Kigali have this weekend off, Huye-based Les Lionnes, who finished second last season, are away to struggling Golden Generation at Rugende ground.

Bugesera women football club take on Gicumbi-based Inyemera at Kamabuye playground while debutants Gakenke will be up against Rambura in Gakenke District.

On Tuesday, bottom-placed Nyagatare will play title hopefuls Kamonyi at Musheri ground hoping to register their first win of the season.

As it stands, unbeaten AS Kigali top the table standings with 21 points, four ahead of second-placed Kamonyi, Les Lionnes are third with 12 points while Bugesera are in fourth also with 12 points but the former have a better goal difference (11) compared to Bugesera’s 8 goals.
