Ghanaian striker Sadick Sulley has opened up on decision to join topflight side Etoile de l'Est despite who are struggling in the Primus National League this season.
Sulley, 23, returned to the Rwandan league as a free agent after a three-month spell with Kyrgyzstan Premier League club Dordoi Bishkek where he scored three goals in nine appearances.
The left -footed attacker signed an 18-month contract with the Ngoma-based club as he hopes to rescue the club from relegation after a first round marred by below par performance that left them sitting at the bottom of the table standings with 10 points..
Sulley told Times Sport that he left Kyrgyzstan after his club Dordoi Bishkek showed no interest in extending his deal which expired in November.
"I signed just three months in Kyrgyzstan and I played all the final nine games for Dordoi Bishkek before the season ended on November 5.The window in Central Asia is different," Sulley said in an interview.
" The 2024 season in Kyrgyzstan will begin in February next year (2024). Besides, I am out of contract and the club is yet to roll out their plans for next season. I initially wanted a six month deal at Etoile de l’Est but they said they can offer only a year and half so I accepted," the former Bugesera FC forward added.
The Ghanaian forward emphasized that his aim now is to help Etoile maintain their Primus National League status.
