David Berg Murenzi is a young photographer with a passion for photography. Apart from photography, Murenzi is also a talented singer and songwriter.
The younger photographer is currently organising a photo exhibition as a tribute to his late mother, Chantal M. Mukantagwabira, who died when he was only five years.
The exhibition will take place on September 9 at Kabana Club in Kacyiru. It will feature a collection of 30 images, showcasing a cycle of the love between a mother and a child.
During the exhibition, Murenzi will express his short lived love with his mother through photography, and comfort people who might have gone through a similar situation.
The first five lucky ladies to arrive at the event will get a treat of free makeup by Trendy Shadow Makeup.
The 21-year-old developed interest in photography at an early age, using his father’s camera. His father is also a professional photographer.
Murenzi got his first lesson in photography at the age of 12, from his father.
"My father is a photographer, so I was exposed to a lot of digital equipment at home. I started taking photographs and videos during our family functions and at events in the neighbourhood at a young age,” recalls Murenzi.
However, despite all the experience and passion under his belt, he says that it was a struggle for him to venture into the industry and earn a decent living as a photographer.
"But as a dreamer who believed hard work pays, I did not give up,” he says.
Today, Murenzi has crafted a name for himself as one of the talented photographers in the country.
