The German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, Dr. Gerd Mueller, is expected in Kigali today for a two-day visit.

The focus of the visit which ends on Friday will be on Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Good Governance/Decentralisation.

Together with the Minister for Education Dr. Papias Malimba Musafiri, Mueller is expected to visit the Integrated Polytechnic Regional Centre (IPRC) in Kigali, according to a statement.

Minister Mueller will later hold a bilateral meeting with finance minister, Ambassador Claver Gatete, address a joint press conference, before visiting Kigali Genocide Memorial in Gisozi, the statement said.

The Workforce Development Authority (WDA) in June announced plans to procure ultra modern equipment worth 5.5 million euros (Rwf4.6 billion) to facilitate students in five TVET schools - to be procured under a partnership with the government and the Federal Republic of German through KfW Development Bank.
