Barack Obama became the first black president after winning the US presidential election last Tuesday, the November 4th. Obama is the 44th president of the US.

He will take his position in the Oval Office in the White House on 30th January next year. He has replaced George W. Bush Jr., son of George Bush Sr. who also was once the president of America.

Many Africans around the world are very happy and are celebrating because they believe that Obama will help Africa in many ways.
