With just two weeks left to the grand finale of the Primus Guma-Guma Super Star Season 6, contestants are doing everything possible to have a go at the ultimate prize.

Indeed if the performances on the last road show in Rubavu over the weekend are anything to go by, the judges and fans will have a hard time deciding the winner as all the contestants look keen on leaving nothing to chance to make a case for themselves.

The Rubavu show saw the contestants battle it out, with each one of them trying to prove to the crowd that they deserved to win this annual musical competition.

Thousands of revellers had turned up for the gig.

MC’s Anita Pendo and Buryohe kicked off the evening’s performances by calling on stage Danny Nanone, one of this year’s contestants. Backed up by his right hand man Khalifan, Danny Nanone did a good job firing up the crowd.

As was the case in the previous road shows, the rapper was deservedly cheered on as he performed Njye Ndarapa and Ikirori, which got Rubavu residents dancing along.

Gabby Umutare was second on stage and, as usual, his smooth vocals endeared him to the revellers. The singer performed Ntunkangure and Mesa Kamwe before handing over the stage to diva Allioni.

Allioni, however, goofed immediately, calling the people of Rubavu ‘residents of Rusizi’, a mistake which earned her boos.

The singer apologised and quickly moved on to perform her songs Pole Pole and Impinduka, with the support of her dancers.

When she was done, she relinquished the stage to Bruce Melodie, a moment which the people of Rubavu were seemingly waiting for.

The "Ntundize” singer cemented his position as one of the favourites to win the competition, performing Ndakwanga and Ndumiwe, which got the people of Rubavu dancing and cheering wildly.

Melodie’s popularity throughout the road shows has been immense and his fans "Ibitangaza” have been on hand to back him up.

The singer finished as first runners-up during last year’s edition and sees 2016 as his opportunity.

The RnB singer was followed by Danny Vumbi, who performed his popular hits Ni Danger and Ni Uwacu, which sounded familiar to the people of Rubavu.

The Afrobeat singer reminded the fans that he has some good experience in the music industry, dating back to the days he was with The Brothers group.

Gakondo singer Jules Sentore was next to entertain Rubavu residents with Udatsikira and Ngera before he passed on the baton to home girl Young Grace.

Born in Rubavu, Young Grace enjoys huge support in her home town and her family, including her mother, were there to support her.

The female rapper performed Sweet Poupou and Hello Boss as she was spurred on by the crowd.

Young Grace was followed by the boy trio TBB on the stage, who performed Vuza Ingoma and MbwizaUkuri which got the people of Rubavu thrilled.

Christopher was the second last to perform, but having lost his voice, the Kina Music star struggled to convince his fans. However, with the support of the crowd, he managed to sing Ndakabya and Abastari.

Urban Boyz closed the show and their performance was massive and exceptional as everyone got on their feet to cheer on the trio of Safi, Humble Jizzo and Nizzo as they performed Till I Die and Tayari.

The trio proved they are another favourites for the grand prize come August 13 at Amahoro stadium in Kigali.

But, in Rubavu, the judges, AimableTwahirwa, Clementine ‘Tonzi’ Uwitonze, and Lion Imanzi, seemed to have a tough time determining who took the days.
