NATIONAL volleyball league defending champions University of Kibungo (UNIK) will be seeking to continue impressive form when they host the playoffs third round in Ngoma District on Sunday.
UNIK need just seven points to retain the title, with one round still to play next weekend in Kirehe district and head coach Dominique Ntawangundi is optimistic that his team will maintain their unbeaten record this season.
Ntawangundi’s team will take on IPRC-South in the first game at 9:30am before facing Kirehe in the second and wind up the round against archrivals APR at 1:30pm. Two wins from three matches is all the UNIK need to retain the title regardless of what happens in the other games.
The Ngoma-based side leads table standing with 54 points, 12 ahead of second-placed APR while Kirehe is third with 41 points.
