After sealing a two-year deal with the Slovakia third division side MFK Topvar Topoľčany, Rwanda international Jean-Claude Iranzi has said he’s relishing the prospect of playing in Europe.

The 25-year old former APR midfielder began his career with Esperance academy in 2000 before joining SC Kiyovu in 2004 where he spent four years and later APR (in 2008).  

Iranzi is set to be unveiled by his Slovakian side on Friday, along with fellow new signings and compatriots; former APR central defender Abdul Rwatubyaye, 19, midfielder Rachid Kalisa, 19 (formerly with Police FC) and right back Fitina Ombalenga, 21 (ex-SC Kiyovu).

All the four signed two-year deals with the side.

"It is a pleasure for me to play in Europe; I have been waiting for this opportunity for a long time,” Iranzi told Times Sport.

He added: "I am grateful to APR, they will always be on my heart and I hope they will continue to move from strength to strength.”

"I left everything behind for a professional move and I will work hard to be the best that I can. It might be difficult in the first few days but I know I will deliver.”

"Playing in Europe is a dream come true for many players and it’s a big achievement for me. Every player wants to go professional. I also believe it kind of inspires younger players back home to work hard. 

"This is a big step in our career. Competing at such a level means a lot to any player,” added the former APR playmaker.
