RWANDA NATIONAL LEAGUE side Association Sportive de Kigali (AS Kigali FC) are close to completing a double swoop for out-of-contract midfield maestros Muhadjiri Hakizimana and Fuadi Ndayisenga, club officials have said.

Mukura Victory Sports midfielder Hakizimana, whose eye-catching performances propelled him to the summit of top scoring chart in the 2015/16 season with 15 league goals, is set not to renew his contract with Huye-based side after joining them in 2014, while Burundian International Ndayisenga is currently a free agent after parting ways with Kenyan side Sofapaka FC.

"We are currently in talks with both players and I can say that we are in the final stages of reaching an agreement, we expect each to sign a contract of at least two years,” said AS Kigali team manager Albert Nshimiye in an exclusive interview with Times Sport, yesterday.

Nshimiye disclosed that the team is poised to revamp the squad having lost two of their key stars- Ernest Sugira, who signed for Congolese side AS Vita club and Jean Pierre Akili Mabula, who joined Australia semi-professional soccer club Sydney Olympic FC.

"We shall still look for other players because we need a replacement for Sugira and, besides our priority target is to win either the league or Peace Cup title,” he added

22-year-old Hakizimana comes from a family of well-known footballers such as Amavubi and Young Africans (Tanzania) skipper Haruna Niyonzima, Abdul Sibomana, a former APR FC and Amavubi midfielder, and Député Singirankabo, a former Etincelles player.
