AS Muhanga cemented a 4-2 victory over Vision FC in a match replay held at Muhanga Stadium on Sunday, December 17.

The teams were playing the remaining 23 minutes a day after the match, which was initially scheduled on Saturday, December 16, was abandoned in the 67th minute due to lack of lights at the venue.
AS Muhanga had taken a commanding 3-1 lead through Christian Iyamuremye’s brace in the 27th and 30th minutes and Jean Pierre Niyonkuru in the 52nd before Vision FC pulled one back through Richard Nsengiyumva.
As the game resumed on Sunday, Vision FC returned to the pitch looking for a comeback. Forward Emmy Mugabo scored the second goal in the 72nd minute to narrow the deficit.
But their hopes for a comeback were thwarted by Abdu Nizeyimana who scored the home side’s fourth goal in the 86th minute to cement a hard fought 4-2 win.
With the win, AS Muhanga closed the gap at the top of Group B within two points moving to second place with 16 points while Vision FC remain top of the table standings with 18 points despite the loss.
