Known for his electric dance and energy on stage, Ugandan artiste Alexander Bagonza, best known as A-Pass, has promised his fans a show like none today at the Nyama Choma Extravaganza at La Palisse Nyandungu in Kigali.

"My expectations are high and, as a performing artiste, I am always optimistic to meet new people and doing different things at different places. I have a big feeling that my first performance in Kigali will be great as I will be performing live and definitely people will enjoy my music,” said A-Pass.

"It doesn’t matter whether people know you or your songs because music is a universal language that anyone can understand. I believe people will enjoy my music and the truth is that many of my songs are popular but people don’t know who the owner is,” he added.

The 27-year-old, who will be performing in Rwanda for the first, will share the stage with DJ Nano, DJ Gil Low, DJ Selekta Copain and Veejay Miles.

A-Pass is known for hit songs like Yuh Don Know Mi, Trouble Maker, Mariana, Wuuyo, Memories, and Gamululu.

Organisers are promising a memorable show for meat lovers in Kigali, adding that, this time round, the event will go on till late.

In July, last year, the annual festival was stopped by the Police at 7:30p.m much to the chagrin of meat enthusiasts who were just getting in the mood. Many took to the social media at the time to criticize the Police action which was linked to a crackdown on noise pollution.

According to the organisers, Gather Inc, this year’s meat festival, which is sponsored by Skol Lager, will also feature several other musicians, including Ray Signature from Uganda.

"Gates will open at 12p.m. People can come with children. Children will enter for free. There will be games and all sorts of entertainment to create a good atmosphere for family and friends outing,” said Zachariah Mswati of Gather Inc.

"The festival is going to happen the same time Rwanda is hosting the African Union Summit which obviously will attract people from all over Africa, which we think is an opportunity for us to show to the rest of Africa what Rwanda has to offer in terms of local cuisine.”

Extravaganza goers will be treated to a variety of sumptuous grilled meats, from goat meat and beef to chicken.

There will be a Skol promotion on offer while an after-party will take place at K-Club Nyarutarama Official.

Tickets are available at the gates for Rwf3,000 for a single person, Rwf5,000 for two people, and Rwf10,000 for five people.

Food vendors at the event are Masters Lounge and Restaurant and Discovery Bar which will be giving revelers a variety to pick from.

The Nyama Choma Extravaganza has its roots in Kenya but has since spread across the region. It’s the 3rd time it is happening in Rwanda.
