Reigning champions Police handball club will be seeking to reclaim the top spot on the national league log when they host Nyakabanda today – on match day 12 – at Kimisagara ground.
Title hopefuls APR stormed the summit of the league table standings for the first time this season following a 35-28 win over Groupe Scolaire Rambura last month with 34 points, one ahead of the defending champions, who have however played a game less.
"This is a very crucial game for us, we need to win to return to the top of the table because any slip-up could cost us the title, my players are aware of our position and know what we need to do,” said Police coach Antoine Ntabanganyimana.
The two-time defending champions are seeking to continue their unbeaten streak in a season in which they have already won the Heroes Day and Genocide memorial tournament titles, while APR are bidding for their first league title since 2009.
