Singer Knowless Butera has announced the date for her latest album launch but, unlike the previous ones, this one will take place in her hometown of Ruhango.
The singer, who is planning to walk down the aisle with her boyfriend and producer Clement Ishimwe, released details of the launch of the album dubbed "Queens”, due on July 23 in Ruhango District.
It is the first time the Primus Guma-Guma Supers Star Season 5 winner is holding a major concern in her home district.
The concert will take place at Kibingo Grounds in Ruhango town and it will be free of charge. Knowless shared her sentiments on the forthcoming launch, stating that she cannot wait.
"Ruhango Twagiye (let’s go). I can’t wait,” she wrote on her social media accounts, adding that ‘I’m coming home’.
Knowless urged her fans to flock to the Southern Province district for the concert, which will be held under the theme "Let us fight drugs”. It is her fourth album.
"The focus is on the concert in Ruhango, we want it to attract as many people as those who attend PGGSS road shows, if not more. It is a promise I had made to my fans in Ruhango and Southern Province in general,” she said.
The concert is aimed at celebrating Knowless’ achievements together with the people who saw her grow as a child, she said.
Apart from winning PGGSS 5, Knowless, who has won several awards and earned nominations for prestigious awards, is considered one of the most successful modern female musicians in Rwanda.
Sources close to her revealed that the album launch is also, in part, to celebrate her transition from a girl to a woman, with only few weeks to go to her much-awaited wedding to her music producer and manager.
Over the weekend, close friends of the singer, including singers Clementine "Tonzi” Uwitonze and Aline Gahongayire and journalists Tidjala Kabendera, Egidie Bibio Ingabire and EvelyneUmurerwa as well as Tom Close’s wife Tricia organised a bridal shower for the ‘Konashize’ singer.
According to reports, wedding invitations for the musical couple are already out with the introduction and giveaway ceremony set for July 31, while the wedding will take place one week later on August 7, at Golden Tulip Hotel in Nyamata, Bugesera District.
The duo say the wedding will be strictly attended by invited persons.
