TWO PEOPLE, both motorcyclists, died in an accident that occurred along the Musanze -Kigali highway on Monday night. Police said the accident took place when a truck with registration number RAA925Q that was heading to Kigali from Musanze veered off its lane and hit two motorcyclists who were driving on the opposite lane, killing them on the spot.

Police said the accident took place when a truck with registration number RAA925Q that was heading to Kigali from Musanze veered off its lane and hit two motorcyclists who were driving on the opposite lane, killing them on the spot.
The accident occurred in at the slope near River Mukugwa in Muhoza sector, Musanze District at around 10:30p.m, according to police.
Superintendent Jean Marie Vianney Ndushabandi, the Spokesperson for Traffic and Road Safety Department of the Rwanda National Police said the accident was most likely caused by over speeding, saying that that is the most plausible explanation as to why the truck left its lane.
He however said they will probe further.
Ndushabandi urged road users to be vigilant whenever they are driving to avoid involving in preventable accidents.
