Kigalians are in for a treat this weekend, as the festive season collides with the recent relaxation of nighttime entertainment restrictions, in effect from Friday, December 15, to January 7, 2024, setting the stage for a new wave of entertainment in the city.

‘Iminsi Myinshi’ Album Launch by Danny Nanone

This Friday, December 15, Kigali Conference and Exhibition Center (KCEV), former Camp Kigali, will witness the album launch of renowned Rwandan rapper Danny Nanone.

The event will feature performances by notable artists such as Knowless, Christopher, Ariel Wayz, Juno Kizigenza, Chriss Eazy, P-Fla, Afrique, and Drama T. Gates open at 3 pm, and tickets are available at Rwf10,000 for regular, Rwf20,000 for VIP, and Rwf240,000 for a table for eight.

Africa Magic at Sud Kigali

For an Afro-vibe experience, Sud Kigali is hosting Africa Magic on Saturday, December 16, celebrating its one-year anniversary. With a "Rich Auntie” and "Rich Uncle” theme, the event is free entrance and guarantees good food, drinks, and music curated by Hottempah Collective. Doors open at 4 pm and close at 10 pm.

Isango na Muzika Awards (IMA)

On Sunday, December 17, the fourth edition of the Isango na Muzika Awards (IMA) will take place at Park Inn by Radisson Hotel in Kigali. Celebrating homegrown talent across 11 categories, the awarding ceremony will be accompanied by a meet and greet at The B Lounge on Saturday, December 16. Chorale de Kigali's 10th Christmas Carols Concert

Rwanda’s renowned catholic choir, Chorale de Kigali, is gearing up for its 10th Christmas Carols concert at BK Arena on Sunday, December 17. The concert promises to be special, featuring performances of popular songs like ‘Champions league anthem,’ ‘Chiquitita,’ and ‘Bound for the promised land.’ Ticket prices range from Rwf5,000 to Rwf50,000.

MellowFest 1st Edition

Scheduled for Sunday, December 17, at Mundi Center, Rwandex, MellowFest is a new festival aimed at bringing attention to some of the "slept-on talents" in the Rwandan music scene.

The lineup includes Nikita Heaven, PaintedBlvck, MaestroBoomin, TheDiceKid, 99 Gang, RY, Angell Mutoni, Underworra, Kraft Mutabazi, Manzi Fleur, and Sema Solé. DJs K’Ru and Denis Kanaka will curate the vibes, and tickets are priced at Rwf10,000.

Ni Rweme Concert by AERG

Celebrating their 27 years anniversary, AERG, an association of student survivors of Genocide against Tutsi, is hosting a concert at Kigali Conference and Exhibition Center (KCEV), former Camp Kigali, on Sunday, December 17.

Performers include Mariya Yohana, Inyamibwa AERG, Nyirinkindi, Ikobe Gakondo, and Alouette. Doors open at 3pm, and entrance requires registration through a QR Code found on their social media platforms.

69th Edition of Reading for Change

Book lovers are in for a transformative experience on Sunday, December 17, at Tres Rwanda (KG 167, House 39) behind Simba Kimironko. Afflatus Rwanda is hosting a book review for the famous book ‘The Alchemist’ by Paulo Coelho under the theme "discovering and living a dream life.” The event features a panel discussion, and book reviewer Mentha Manning will be present. Doors open at 5 pm, and entrance is free.
