Bank of Kigali (BK) have won the Corporate League basketball competition for the third time in a row after defeating Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in the final 70-61 on Saturday at University of Rwanda College of Science and Technology court.

Bank of Kigali (BK) have won the Corporate League basketball competition for the third time in a row after defeating Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) in the final 70-61 on Saturday at University of Rwanda College of Science and Technology court.
KCB started in magnificent fashion, winning the first quarter 21-13 but the defending champions, BK, led by Rwanda international Lionel Hakizimana, recovered to take the second quarter 22-10.
The third quarter finished in a 14-all stalemate before BK claimed the fourth 21-16 to claim the title for the third successive year. Hakizimana, who plays for national league giants, Espoir BBc, scored the game high 19 points.
"I am very happy and credit to my players, they exhibited great commitment since the beginning of this competition in January, and besides we prepared well for this final because we knew KCB are a tough team,” BK coach John Bosco Rukundo told Sunday Sport.
The basketball competition had attracted five teams which included; Guarantee Trust (GT) Bank, Rwanda Energy Group (REG), KCB and BK. The teams played in a round-robin format (home and away) and the top two qualified for the final.
Meanwhile, football and volleyball finals are scheduled to be played on July 1.
